The Senate Campaign Is Over, But the Work Continues
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of you who supported Lisa in her quest to unseat Senator Susan Collins with a campaign focused on people, planet, and peace. Lisa, and all of us on the campaign, are thankful for every single one of the 40,567 Mainers (5%!) who ranked Lisa first in this election, as well as all of you across the country who contributed to this campaign and funded this year-long effort.
While we were, of course, disappointed in the ultimate outcome, we will never be anything but proud of giving voice to those who wanted Medicare for All, a Demilitarized Green New Deal, a People’s Bailout for coronavirus response (something we need now, more than ever), cancellation of student debt, a true effort toward racial justice, free public university education, universal childcare, defunding of the police, and so many other progressive policies that would have otherwise gone unmentioned in this race.
However, you can be sure that Lisa is not done advocating for the people of Maine and those who live beyond Maine’s borders. While she and many of us here on the team consider what our next steps might look like, we encourage you to drop us an email at [email protected] and let us know you’d like to be added to Lisa’s email distribution list, so that when we have something ready to announce, you’ll be among the first to know.
Until then, please know that we have never been more encouraged. These progressive policies are wildly popular and it’s clear that people are ready for true and meaningful change. Together, we can make it happen.
Lisa’s Book and Speaking Tour
One thing Lisa will definitely be doing in 2021 is speaking to accompany the release of her book, “Ever Heard of Her?,” which is perfect for community groups, book clubs, schools, and anyone else looking to learn about historical figures who never got the credit they deserved, due in large part to their gender.
Interested in booking Lisa to speak to your organization? Reach out to [email protected] Lisa can adjust her presentation to just about any audience and has a long history in education.
Interested in buying Lisa’s book? It’s available through most indie book stores for ordering, but both DDG Books in Farmington and the Book Shop of Beverly Farms have in-store copies and can ship just about immediately. If you’re looking for more than one, the Book Shop is your best bet, as they can do wholesale.
